New iCloud Version of List Master FAQ

Note: "List Master" (Pro) has been renamed to "Infinity Lists""

If you had List Master Pro, you have automatically been updated to this new version.
If you have List Master, you will need to install this version from the App Store.
The following are questions/answers for those who would like to know more about the process.

Why are you switching to iCloud Syncing?

When I first created List Master in 2009, it was one of the first 100,000 apps on the app store. At that time, there was no good syncing software out there, so I wrote my own. It was never a perfect solution, but served a purpose. When Apple introduced iCloud syncing, I wanted to use it but my data model didn't support it. Recently, I decided to make it a priority and put in hundreds of hours to change the data model in the app to one that works with iCloud. With this solution, you will no longer need to create a List Master account, and your lists will sync instantaneously across all of your apple devices. It was a major overhaul, but I think it will be worth it.

Is there a minimum iOS version for this upgrade?

Yes. iOS 17.6 or greater is required.

I only have one device, so don't need to sync with other devices. Is there any value in iCloud syncing for me?

Yes. iCloud syncing syncs your data safely to Apple's servers. This is useful in case you ever delete the app or get a new device. In which case, your lists will automatically show up when you re-install the app.

Why a subscription model?

I have researched many of the other list apps and feel mine is more sophisticated, intuitive and powerful than the others, and am pricing it competitively.
I also put over 1000 hours into this new version, enhancing nearly every aspect. And have many more exciting features planned for the future.

What are the subscription levels?

You can subscribe monthly ($2.99), annually ($19.99), or pay for a one-time lifetime subscription ($49.99, discounted 50% for existing users to $24.99). All prices USD, please adjust for your currency.

Will there be a grace period?

Yes, there is a two week grace period from the date I released the new version for existing users before you will need to choose a subscription option. I released it on May 3, 2025. So, you will not need to choose a subscription option until May 17, 2025.

Can I keep syncing with List Master Cloud?

If you choose to not use the new iCloud version, you can still use the version with List Master Cloud until November 2026, at which time the server that supports it will be going away.

Will I be able to sync my lists with other people?

Yes, this is a major feature I worked hard to get into this new version. You will be able to share and sync any lists you specify with other Infinity Lists users.

Can I manage my lists from my desktop computer?

If you have a Mac computer, you can install Infinity Lists there from the Mac App Store and use it just like you do on your mobile device.

Can I keep using the website?

The website will be irrelevant if you are using Infinity Lists. If you choose to keep using List Master, the website will be available until November 2026. After that, it will no longer be available. If you have a Mac computer, you can use the Infinity Lists app there instead.

What about money I paid for website membership?

If you've paid for website membership that you no longer need, please contact us if you'd like a refund.

What if I have List Master Pro?

Your app will be updated to Infinity Lists automatically. You should then get the half-price lifetime membership option. If you don't see that, contact me at support@infinitylists.app.

What if I have List Master and upgraded to Pro with an in-app purchase?

You will need to install Infinity Lists. You can migrate your lists from List Master into Infinity Lists using the instructions below.

What if I don't know whether I have List Master or List Master Pro?

Go to the app settings and tap About. The title will be "List Master (Pro)" if you have List Master Pro. It will be "Infinity Lists" if you had List Master Pro and have been updated to the new iCloud sync version. If it says "List Master (Upgraded)" or "List Master (Lite") you have List Master and will need to download Infinity Lists, in order to use the new version.

How do I get my data from List Master into Infinity Lists?

What will happen with my data on List Master Cloud?

You can delete your account at any time. When the server goes away in 2026, all data will be erased.

What happens to my data if I delete the Infinity Lists app?

Once your data is synced to iCloud, it will stay there forever. So, you can delete the app and re-install it and your data will still be there.

Will the new app have all the same features?

Yes! It has all the same features as the existing app, plus many new ones. The basic look and feel will be the same, though completely modernized throughout. And I have many major features planned for the future.

Will I be able to backup my database? Within the app? Via email? Via Dropbox?

Yes, to all. The new version will have all the same backup options as the current one.

Will I be able to import and export lists?

Yes, just the same as you can now.

If I don't need to sync and I'm ok not getting future updates, can I stay on the current version of List Master?

Yes, you just need to make sure to install List Master and not Infinity Lists

Can I opt out of this upgrade?

Yes. If you do not want the new iCloud syncing or any new features or updates, or the new pricing model, you can use the app as it is. There are two apps on the App Store - List Master and Infinity Lists. List Master will remain as is, without the iCloud syncing or any future updates. Infinity Lists has the iCloud update and continuing development and support. If you installed List Master, you can continue to use it. If you installed List Master Pro, you would need to download List Master for free and migrate your lists via your List Master Cloud account or from List Master Pro (now Infinity Lists). I provide full instructions for this simple process below. Note: Eventually, I will remove List Master from the App Store, so all new customers will only be offered Infinity Lists. You will still be able to keep the old app on your phone, just won't be able to re-install it if you delete it, and I won't be maintaining it.

Can I get the new app but opt out of the iCloud syncing?

Can I keep both apps?

Yes, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you would like to keep both apps, you can install List Master and Infinity Lists on your device. Your data will not sync between the two, and List Master will not be maintained or supported going forward, and eventually will be removed from the App Store.

These instructions are for people who had purchased List Master (not List Master Pro) previously, and would like to switch to Infinity Lists.

Important: If you have List Master on multiple devices with the same iCloud account, do the following on only ONE device (per iCloud account). Once that procedure is complete, then delete the app from your other device(s) and reinstall from the App Store. When you open the newly installed app on those devices, it will bring in the lists you migrated to your first device to these other devices via iCloud sync.
